The local area is a haven for walkers and cyclists. There are miles of walks or rides, on the lovely coast and in the beautiful countryside along quiet byways, lanes, beaches, coastal paths and cycle routes. There are designated areas of beach and coastline for dog walkers available all year round.
Some regard Norfolk as the bird watching capital of Britain. Among the many bird reserves are Snettisham (RSPB), Titchwell Marsh (RSPB), Cley Marches (NWT), Blakeney, Brancaster, Holkham and Holme Dunes (NWT).
Within easy walking distance are the two beaches at Heacham, pubs, restaurants and village shops. The area also has many other great beaches and coastal villages. Among them are Holme, Cley, Holkham, Blakeney, Brancaster and Wells next the sea.
There are a number of Golf courses nearby. Heacham Manor is the nearest with others at Hunstanton, Kings Lynn and Sheringham.
Among many interesting places to visit are Sandringham, Holkham, Castle Rising and The Lavender Fields.
